For more than seven decades of its existence, Cotabato light remains steadfast on its commitment of delivering quality electric service to its customers by living to its core values of innovation, teamwork and service excellence. Despite of its modest growth, the company continues to invest capital expenditures to keep its facility reliable and efficient.

And, being part of the Aboitiz group, the company also deployed world class technological advancement such as CAD Mapping, Synergee, Oracle’s ERP and Customer Care and Billing - in sync with Aboitiz group-wide “one-system”.

Also this year, a new substation will soon be energized to provide more muscles to Cotabato Light transmission and distributions system.  All of these major projects and improvements require team efforts and collaboration internally and externally.  Thus, it is only befitting to celebrate this year’s Employees’ Recognition and Appreciation Day with the theme “Synergy at 23!”

On August 20, 2011 the Cotabato Light team packed their bags and enjoyed the day at Blue Jaz Resort, Samal Island, Davao to celebrate its 23rd Employees Recognition Day.  What made the day complete and more special was the presence of Cotabato Light executives: President and CEO Jimmy Aboitiz, SVP and COO Art Milan, VP and Resident Manager Cris Ferolino and VP for Engineering Rodger Velasco. There were also special guests from VECO and Davao Light.

That event was indeed full of fun.  Aside from the bus-trivia games and jokes, the team seize the day with team-building games prepared by Ad hoc team.  Then everyone took a dip in the beach and at the pool to cool down after a tiresome travel and mind-boggling physical parlor games. After the short rest, everyone gathered in the evening to savor the moment with Cotabato Light executives.

“Today, I recognized and honored you guys for your dedication and passion to keep your banners high.  Aside from our problem on systems loss – your overall performance is terrific.  More so, I could proudly say that Cotabato Light best simplified what unity and teamwork is all about.  How I wish that other business units in the Aboitiz group would have that kind of attitude and culture like yours.”  President and CEO Jimmy Aboitiz said with confidence.

To spice up the event, the all-boys Power Dance Crew had made everyone in the dancing mode with their hip-hop moves. Not to be outdone, the lovely ladies astonished the audience with their sexy and dramatic dance number – “Angels cry”, hmmm…Cotabato Light got talents huh! =)

In closing, everyone was amazed with the fire dancing along the seashore.  Could that be a sign of another challenging and fruitful year?  We don’t know yet but both the management and employees are optimistic that better days are just within reach if we work together in synergy!
