JOBSEEKER: An interested graduating student of Notre Dame University (NDU) is being interviewed by Cotabato Light HR Staff Ms. Michelle Prudente during the Job Fair held at NDU-Tanghalang Michael Clark.

Completing a college degree is not that easy, and so thus finding a job.  It’s good that some schools and universities are conducting a job fair thereby providing an easy access to opportunities of employment to the graduates who will soon join the crowd of jobseekers.  That’s why event like this always serves as a good venue where prospective employees and employers meet.

In response to the invitation of Notre Dame University (NDU), the Cotabato Light and Power Company (CLPC) along with other different companies in Mindanao participated on its Jobs Fair.  Employers gather themselves to eventually find the talent that they need and at the same time give vast opportunities to graduating students to be employed. The event was held at the latter's Tanghalang Michael Clark on March 23.  This activity was organized by NDU's Guidance and Testing Center in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment, Region XII.

Cotabato Light Brand Officer Donjie Vertuoso and HR & Comrel Staff Michelle P. Prudente represented Cotabato Light in this activity.  This was also a timely event for CLPC because the company is looking for qualified applicants for various vacancies. More than a handful of applicants showed their interest to become part of the CLPC team.

During the event, both Cotabato Light representatives grabbed the opportunity to inform and invite the students and teachers about the upcoming Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit (AFLBS) and Earth Hour 2012.

Nowadays, even with the help of technology and internet, this classic way of recruitment still gives an edge since the job seekers get to meet variety of employers at one place at the same time. It's like a one-time shop for all candidates.  Other offices which also participated in this endeavor were Banco de Oro  (BDO), China Bank, Toyota Davao City Incorporated, Insular Life, Jollibee, McDonalds, Green World Placement Services and other companies.
