FOR THE FLOOD VICTIMS: Cotabato Light HR & Comrel Officer Anna Lea Lee  Nataño turns-over the rice for the flood victims at Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato City.

Waters are everywhere!  This is somehow the scenario at Cotabato City and its nearby provinces.  And for the last decade, this has been the worst flood ever in Cotabato City, including the municipalities of Sultan Kudarat and Datu Odin Sinsuat.  Almost all barangays in the city have been affected by this calamity caused by 100,000 tons of water hyacinths clogging the Rio Grande de Mindanao.

As of June 15, the City Relief and Rehabilitation Committee reported that there are about 18,000 families, or 66,000 individuals already affected by the flood. Some of them stayed at nearby evacuation centers.

The Aboitiz foundation and Cotabato Light in particular had immediately took refuge in helping the victims of the flood by donating 100 sacks of rice worth Php 125,000 to Cotabato City government thru the Office on Social Welfare and Development Services (OSWD) and to Sultan Kudarat Municipal office thru the head of Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Datu Raiz Mamadra.

Cotabato Light's Engr. Genciano C. Ticzon, Anna Lea Lee Nataño, Engr. Anthony M. Bueno and Mr. Alejo C. Clemente headed the turn-over on June 17 and 27at OSWD's office. Ms. Ofelia C. Ibrahim and Ms. Veranda Samson gratefully accepted the donation.

“These donations will be of great help and somehow ease the ill feeling of our homeless Cotabateños. Thank you for your continued assistance in our community.” Ms. Ibrahim added.//
