THIS ONE’S FOR THE CHILDREN:  The Cotabato Light team together with Rojas Elementary School teachers collectively and gladly participate in the nationwide Brigada Eskwela School maintenance and cleanliness drive.

The Spirit of Volunteerism was very much alive at Rojas Elementary School as 32 Cotabato Light employees together with some Rojas School teachers participated on Brigada Eskwela program also known as the Bayanihan Para sa Paaralan on May 26, 2012.

Brigada Eskwela is a yearly activity of Department of Education (DepEd) that will give much help - more especially to the students, and for the cleanliness and beautification of public schools.  The volunteers repainted five classrooms, did some minor repairs on the buildings, as well inspection of electric service drop and rewiring of electrical connections to make the classrooms clean, safe and conducive for learning.

What made this year's Brigada Eskwela more special is because of its theme "Higit sa Lahat Bata". Like a good father or parent to a child, what we always wanted is for the good and welfare of our children.  That is also true to Brigada Eskwela’s primary concern.

Yearly, aside from classroom building donations and scholarship grants, Cotabato light participates in this worthwhile endeavor to make education an enjoyable experience for the children by providing better learning environment.  As the theme stated that “Para sa mga bata, Sa kapakanan ng mga bata, Para sa kabutihan ng mga bata, Higit sa lahat bata!  With gladness and enthusiasm VP and Resident manager Cris Ferolino remarked - "Yes, this is surely a worthwhile effort and time to spend because above all…ito ay para sa kabataang mag-aaral!”

The Cotabato Light and the Aboitiz group nationwide are regularly participating in this annual DepEd program.  Together, as individual volunteers, concern citizens, as a group, as private company,  government officials, school administrators and teachers – we can make a difference in molding a better future for these children, lalo na ang lahat ng ito ay para sa mga bata na siyang tinuturing pag-asa ng ating bansa!
