The overall residential rate of Cotabato Light went up by P1.6030 per kilowatt hour (kWh) this January, increasing the rate to Php 10.9158/kWh from P9.3128/kWh last month. This rate applies to bills received from January 18, 2026 to February 17, 2026.
The increase in electricity rates is mainly because of higher generation charge. Generation costs rose due to increased power supply prices from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), caused by several power plant outages in the previous month. Additionally, the implementation of the new government charge, the Green Energy Auction Allowance (GEA-All) under the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Case No. 2025-127 RC dated December 26, 2025, contributed to the overall increase.
With this, Cotabato Light continues to encourage customers to manage their energy consumption and use electricity wisely to avoid high electricity bill.
