Cotabato City – Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light) has officially started its 69kV Subtransmission Line Project, an important initiative to further strengthen its franchise area power system and improve service reliability for customers.

The project, which will run from June 2025 to October 2026, will provide Cotabato Light with greater operational flexibility by creating an exclusive route for electricity supply not totally dependent on a shared subtransmission line with the neighboring cooperative (Magelco), which is prone to frequent unscheduled power interruptions because of aging structures and vegetations. Once completed, this will help ensure that customers experience fewer interruptions during scheduled maintenance activities on the transmission network, which is owned and operated by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

“We understand how important continuous electricity is to our customers, especially on weekends,” said Valentin S. Saludes III - Cotabato Light President & COO. “This project is a proactive step to make our system more resilient while supporting the city’s growth and development.”

The 69kV Subtransmission Line Project is part of Cotabato Light’s long-term infrastructure plan, aimed at meeting the growing power demands of Cotabato City and surrounding areas.

Cotabato Light appreciates the cooperation and support of its partners, including NGCP, and its customers as the project progresses. The company remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient electricity service.
