The overall residential rate of Cotabato Light dropped by P2.01 per kilowatt hour (kWh) this October, bringing the rate down to Php 8.0854/kWh from P10.0952/kWh last month. This rate applies to bills received from October 18 to November 17, 2025.
The decrease is due to lower market prices from the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in Mindanao, a venue for trading electricity as a commodity, and where Cotabato Light sources a part of its power requirement.
Cotabato Light reiterates that market prices are volatile, so monthly changes in power rates are expected. Even with the decreased rate, the power distribution utility encourages customers to manage their energy consumption efficiently and wisely to avoid high electricity bills.
